Alo Moves

Alo Moves, developed by Alo Yoga, is a fitness app with a focus on holistic well-being that offers users a complete studio experience from the comfort of their homes. With thousands of classes designed to support body, mind, and spirit, Alo Moves caters to everyone—from complete beginners to those looking to elevate their fitness routines.
Alo Moves is experiencing poor engagement with their Community feature. To address this issue, I developed a solution that not only aims to increase user engagement but also aligns with Alo Moves' core values of promoting well-being and building a supportive community.

The Alo Moves user is a fitness enthusiast who needs a seamless and private activity logging experience because they want to track their workouts without cluttering the Community Board or compromising their engagement and privacy.
To address the problem required a three prong approach: I separated the Activity and Community features, expanded the workout tracking options, and provided users with greater options to view their activity history.




The class page was revamped to create a more streamlined and user-friendly experience. We decluttered the layout by removing the "Community Board" and focused on simplifying the flow of information. Now, when a class is completed, it is automatically logged to the user’s activity history, and the page clearly indicates that the class has been completed upon return. Users also have the option to "love" a completed class as a form of feedback and leave private notes about their experience, making the page more intuitive and personalized.




The Progress Review Flow was redesigned to provide users with a more intuitive way to track and review their fitness journey. Users can now set and view a weekly goal for the number of classes they aim to complete, helping them stay motivated and on track. Their activity history is easily accessible through the new "My Practice" navigation option, where they can view completed classes in both list and calendar formats. Additionally, users can review their activity stats with month-to-month and year-to-year comparisons, giving them a clearer picture of their progress and growth over time.




The Community feature was completely redesigned to foster deeper connections among users by creating a space for discussion and interaction. Now, users can engage in forums on topics related to health and fitness, building a supportive network centered around shared interests. The redesigned Community also serves as a platform for Alo Moves to host live classes, where users can interact with each other in real-time, enhancing the group class experience. Additionally, the feature includes surveys and blog posts, encouraging users to share their thoughts and insights through comments, making the community more dynamic and engaging.
With the new website in place, they are now ready to move into phase two, focusing on improving their search engine ranking for Toronto-area contractors. This phase will include adding a blog section, creating marketing materials, and expanding their reach across social media platforms.
