Project Overview

Arete Financial Inc. is a financial planning firm based in Cambridge, Ontario, dedicated to helping individuals and families secure their financial futures. They specialize in creating personalized plans tailored to each client's unique needs, including retirement planning, education savings, tax strategies, pensions, estate planning, and a variety of investment options.

With a small budget and a tight deadline, Arete Financial Inc. needed a refreshed website that would better serve their clientele by being more accessible and user-friendly. I worked to enhance the website’s design, improving navigation and engagement, ensuring their services were presented in a clear and polished manner to inspire confidence in users.

Project Challenges

One of the primary challenges I faced was ensuring that the website adhered to accessibility standards while working within Arete Financial Inc.'s existing brand colors. Their color palette posed accessibility issues, so I had to carefully adjust and incorporate these colors throughout the site in a way that maintained readability and inclusivity.

Additionally, the project had a very tight budget, limiting the scope of changes I could make. This meant being strategic with the updates to maximize impact without overextending the resources available.

The site was also built using Elementor for WordPress, which imposed constraints on how much customization could be applied. Despite these limitations, I worked creatively within the builder to deliver a polished, user-friendly experience.

Lastly, the website’s content was text-heavy, so I needed to balance this with appropriate visuals. Finding the right mix of images helped break up the dense copy while maintaining a clean and professional layout.
